Native American Names - the best horse-lover dating site! - the best horse-lover dating site!

Welcome To The Mane Street!

The Mane Street, owned and operated out of Virginia, is one of North America's fastest growing online equine communities. We are a site which does not cater to one particular breed or discipline.  We are dedicated to bringing together people who love horses from all walks of life, from all over the world, in order to promote learning and understanding of these wonderful animals. The Mane Street does this by encouraging global discussions of ideas and opinions;  and, since we strive to provide an equine informational resource, our members are also encouraged to question, challenge, and discuss the information they see presented on our forums as we feel this helps determine what is useful and accurate. Our forums are moderated by friendly, caring and knowledgeable equestrians whose goals are to maintain civility and politeness while encouraging the flow of information.

Our forums strive always to create a comfortable atmosphere conducive to sharing and learning, particularly for non-competitive horse owners who own horses purely for the love of the horse-- though our site encompasses all aspects of owning, breeding, competing and simply loving horses.  Our members who do compete, breed, teach or train regularly are always willing to share their tips.  It's this caring and supportive sharing that sets The Mane Street apart.

The Mane Street also has an extensive library of articles on a variety of equine topics, business listings and a Stallion Directory.  In addition to all of this, we offer contests, fun, camaraderie and friendship.

For More Information, Please Read Our FAQ

The Mane Street had sustained a cyber attack and has a lot of damage. The forums software was no longer useable after the attack and the forums are currently not available.  There may be forums in the future, but for now, please enjoy the articles and information on our static pages.

"The Mane Street is a great place for horse lovers to meet and network. They also boast of a wonderful article library that covers all things horses."

Do not count on the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) to help care for unwanted, neglected horses and other animals.  The vast majority of your donation money will NOT be used to help care for these horses and animals.

A Former Deputy District Attorney Discusses Wayne Pacelle

"We have no ethical obligation to preserve the different breeds of livestock produced through selective breeding ...One generation and out. We have no problems with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding."
-Wayne Pacelle

It's about lining the pockets of the organizers, ridding our society of animals, and not at all about charity despite the bleeding heart ad campaigns.

Be aware that only one-half of one percent of HSUS' budget goes to actual hands-on animal care!

Please refer to the to see what happens to organizations that support HSUS in this enlightened age and to see what direct effect the HSUS is having on the livestock and agricultural industry.

"We have found that civil disobedience and direct action has been powerful in generating massive attention in our communities ... and has been very effective in traumatizing our targets."
-J.P. Goodwin
"Like any kind of sophisticated political operation, you use the best research tools in order to drive your message, but in terms of our policy formulations, I can't think of a time that we've done research."
-Wayne Pacelle,

If you are not aware of all of this please look into it - it's shocking the misinformation they use, the fraction of $ that does go to charity, and the millions going to CEO and other top "managers".  We encourage anyone who is concerned about truly helping horses to educate yourself about the modern direction of the HSUS agenda.  Please spread this information to prevent yet another horse organization taking up with HSUS .

We are stewards of God's creation, and we are responsible and accountable for our stewardship of what He has entrusted to our watchcare" (The Earth Is the Lord's, pp.29-30)
--Morris H. Chapman, president and chief executive officer of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee.

"Being told to have dominion over the earth does not mean we are to be the lords of the earth; we have only one Lord. It does not mean we are to go about the earth pillaging and torching the earth ...... To have dominion literally means to bring the earth under control for the sake of all of us, including the animal kingdom. It means not to conquer the earth but to care for and to cultivate the earth." (The Earth Is the Lord's, p.154)
--Jack N. Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas, and former President of the Southern Baptist Convention (2002-2004)

In the book of Genesis, for instance, it is written that humans alone are created in God's image, and that we are to have "dominion" over all other beings (Gen. 1:26). But "dominion" does not mean that humans are given license to do as we please. Instead, we are to act as wise stewards, caring for the creation on behalf of all beings (Gen. 2:15). In the end, "the Earth is the Lord's and all that is in it" (Ps. 24:1), and Southern Baptists believe that those who have been saved, in particular, will be called to account by God for our treatment of His creation and the other beings He has created.
